"HOW OLD ARE YOU?"
Today after so much of impatient waiting,I saw our Manju's "Signature movie"in Malayalam -"How old are you?".She is an actor,who,win the screen as always with her talent only, than mere looks..And in most of the close up scenes,we could feel her hidden pain at heart,which added the grace of the character"Nirupama Rajeev".
I really appreciate her natural style of behaving than simply acting on screen with the help of too much make-up,glamour looks,designer costumes etc
And due to the strength of Bobby-Sanjay's script & faultless direction done by Roshan Andrews, sometimes,I stepped in the character's shoes & felt a kind of suffocation as a wife,as a Mother & as a Woman in total... and couldn't control the emotional pain which shed as tears through the path of my eyes...
My congratulations to the whole crew behind this "class cinema" including world class technicians,cinematographers,make up artists etc.There is only one song in this movie,but it is relevant to the situation/flow of narration of the tale.And when we say about casting of characters,it again proves the caliber of the Director.
And here we need to mention the acting of talented Sethulakshmi amma specially,who portrays an old woman whom the heroine character of Manju meets every day in bus.Most of us may not be aware that she has won many awards for her great performances in several Malayalam theater plays/drama before.Also need to say special mention to the character of actress Kaniha in the movie,who,remembers us that,behind the success of anybody,especially a woman,definitely there will be her best friend...and most of the time it will be a woman only ,cause,a woman only can understand the pulse of another woman in the same sequence than a man,I believe.
The first half represents the present life of many talented women,who were an inspiration to many through their various kinds of god given talents & will power in the past,but,the same ladies,now, even can't recollect their unique identity/name/talents and acts like clowns,hiding the tears & inner pain by wearing the mask of big smile & meaningless jokes, due to the dark side/years of their life,what society often call"The institution of Marriage".
It is also a wake up call to the sleeping minds of extra ordinary/born talents,to wake up and work hard to achieve their life's specific dream come true...
And..my dear sisters...if your mind is set to achieve your specific goal,nothing can stop you and for that,even AGE doesn't matter.. until YOU,not others, keep an expiry date to it...!!!
And Yes,"YOUR DREAM IS YOUR SIGNATURE"..So believe in yourself cause,if you don't believe in yourself,how can you expect others to believe in YOU?!!! So start chasing your dreams and one day this world will start appreciating and following YOU too...
